Sunshine and Glory

We've had a fantastic day at the Botanic Gardens today, which has become a Wednesday ritual. The girls are rosey and tired from playing, running, climbing and breathing in the fresh air. One of the staff 'told' us that the children had to come out of the pond after they'd already been playing in there for about two hours. His claim was that they put chemicals in the water, that there's wildlife in the water and that 'they just shouldn't be in there in the first place'... OK Sir. The children all came out of the pond and played on the grass instead. It seems that nowhere is really geared up for children. It's obvious that there's no wildlife in the pond at the Botanics - if there is, the 'chemicals' will have killed it by now, paticuarly if said chemicals are dangers for children. I think that if he'd delivered his request to have our children vacate the pond in a friendly, warm manner instead of in a miserable git manner then I wouldn't feel annoyed about it. It's not getting out of the pond that's the problem, it's his attitude! Ah well, the day was still glorious and continues to be. My girls are now in the back garden, naked, faffing on ith the hose pipe. Happy days!

  2. It was fab wasn't it. You know what, I'm actually glad they've been banned from the pond as it means I won't have to carry umpteen changes of clothing. Perhaps we should sit in the trees next time for a change of sceen. I still love that place.
